An amazingly beautiful high alpine race along the Pacific Crest Trail from Rainy Pass to Harts Pass and back in the North Cascades. Miles and Miles of super fun single track on open ridges and up and over high mountain passes with 360 degree views of countless surrounding jagged peaks. The out and back course is 100% single track and is as remote as you can get-- the race doesn't cross a single road and all of the aid stations(except the one at the turn-around) must be packed in. According to ultrarunning legend David Horton, the first ultrarunner to set a speed record for the entire PCT, says this section is one of the three best parts of the entire 2600 mile trail and the other two sections(Goat Rocks and High Sierras) are both protected as federal wilderness and therefore those sections will never have a race held on them.  Due to the remoteness, length and difficulty of the course this race is only for highly qualified and experienced ultrarunners-- besides we have a strict limit on the number of runners the Forest Service is willing to allow and so I thought a race like this should be a kind of reward to those who in their life have logged enough hard mountain miles to earn their way into this race.
